REVIEW: SELF-DISCIPLINE WORKSHOP

Did you know self-discipline can not only improve wellness, but promote productivity, time-management, and perseverance as well?

Last night myHRcareers hosted Alexandra Merisoiu’s final workshop in the MHRC Well-being Series.  We explored self-discipline and how it can make a positive impact in your life, and outlined steps in order to kick-start change.

It turns out that self-discipline can have quite an effect on your life.  There are so many instances in which we find ourselves wasting time on distractions, stressed because there’s so much to do, and/or unhappy for not  finding time to do the things we really want to do.  Self-discipline can aid with all these cases and help you manage your time wisely to be more productive.

The thing about self-discipline is that it doesn’t happen instantly overnight, but there are small starting steps you can take to begin the process.  Alex outlines these steps in a clear, concise way that is not only relevant and applicable to almost anyone, but attainable.  In the workshop we identified specific areas of our individual lives which could use discipline and created an accountability system to keep ourselves responsible for the proposed changes.

When you first meet Alex, you notice she emits a very calm, but powerful presence.  During the workshop we went through the core principles of her own personal technique that she had created: the Merisoiu Technique.  She has a very strong passion for what she does and truly strives to make a difference in the lives of others through her practise.  The commitment she has to helping others realise the potential within themselves is inspiring and admirable.

This workshop being the first by Alex that I attended, I felt it was a wonderful experience and especially useful for those needing pointers on time management.  I would recommend you check out Alex’s business site Urban Woman Fitness and see what she’s about.

Thank you so much, Alex, for giving your workshop; we look forward to hearing about what you’ll be doing in the future!
